How does a modern-day skin star from GayPornLand become one of the most talked-about, gossiped-out, buzzed-about studs in the gay-media-gossip blogosphere? I’ve observed that it takes about 48 hours for a story like this one to move from the further reaches of the blogosphere to the larger LGBT sites. That’s what is happening now. It takes another day or two for the story to hit the mainstream. Given it’s a slow, pre-holiday news week, I’m guessing Messrs. Louis and Jacobs will be on TMZ and the AOL news browser by tomorrow or Thursday, if they aren’t already. “Harry Louis” is actually one of the most-requested search phrases on GPTimes today. Constant Readers with long memories will recall proximity to Jacobs had the same effect for Erik Rhodes about three or four ago. Of course, their dalliance was the real deal. It’s not clear yet if Mr. Louis, whose longtime boyfriend is fellow skin star Fernando Kairon, is actually seeing the designer. At post time, he hadn’t commented publicly. Signage: Hook-up site Manhunt has erected—pun not intended, but I’m keeping it—a brand-new billboard in Times Square touting its new mobile app. “We New Yorkers usually loathe the throngs of tourists who invade the Big Apple around the holidays. But this Christmas we hope there are more of them than ever so they all can see [this] big, juicy billboard,” notes Queerty.com. “Yes, the ‘zero feet away’ reference will probably go over Jimmy Joe and Betty Sue’s heads, but the sweaty, hot dudes in dog tags about to make out is pretty unmistakable. We can’t wait for some annoying sexphobic mommy blogger to complain about this.” Ah, yes, such as the tempest-in-a-teapot kicked up last month when another smaller Manhunt billboard went up near a private school out here in Studio City. XBIZ Names Top Skin-Biz Newsmakers
