'Deep Throat Sex Scandal'-2010-play-Jerry-Douglas-BertolinoPress Release Roundup: A new stage play, The Deep Throat Sex Scandal, is set to open at the Zephyr Theatre in Hollywood on January 24. It tells the story of DEEP THROAT and its stars Linda Lovelace and Harry Reems, who were catapulted to international notoriety following its release, and subsequent charges of obscenity, back in the ’70s. I am working behind the scenes, and legendary adult filmmaker Jerry Douglas is directing; rehearsals kick off tonight. Constant Readers might recall I wrote about the play in 2011 when it opened in New York; however, a dispute between the theater owner and the building’s landlord led to its cancellation (see the links below). Playwright and producer David Bertolino has been working on a West Coast transfer ever since. Check out a brief article in today’s Los Angeles Times. Two celebrities from different corners of the entertainment universe will guest-star each week; lined up for January 24-27 are ingenue Amber Lynn and industry icon William Margold. I wish it every success. But I believe the original stars are no longer with us?

Harry Reems and one or two other case members still alive, but Linda Lovelace and director Gerry Damiano are deceased.
