New Release Desk: Last April, Raging Stallion Studios announced its merger with Euro production company High Octane (click here); MASTERS & SERVANTS is among the first fruit from the hybrid plant. For this tale of horny masters and their unusually accommodating servants—Gay Erotica Classic Storyline©, No. 7—helmer Hervé Bodilis corralled a passel of fourteen hard-bodied Eastern European hunks, including familiar faces Enrico Bellagio, Renato Bellagio (a/k/a Isidore Nadas), Evan Rochelle (a/k/a Leslie Bart, famed for a cock as thick and long as his own neck), and Garcia Udulo (a/k/a James Jordan). I don’t know why I even bother trying to keep track of the multitude of alternate stage names among the Eastern European talent pool; when I was editing last year’s Adam Gay Video Directory the task drove me to drink. Pictured, right, is costar Rod Stevans (a/ka Rod Stevens), whose louche, come-hither gaze in this shot makes ya want to do bad things… Some of these guys appear in another RSS import, the newest “gonzo” flick from helmer Alberto Rey hilariously titled HERE A FUCK, THERE A FUCK. New Release Desk: The latest from idiosyncratic writer/director Jett Blakk is MUG SHOTS (Dirty Bird Pictures), billed as “a blend of intrigue, mystery, murder and misguided love.” Cover stud Scott Campbell is framed for murder and talks mug shot photographer Robbie Ireland (pictured, right, macking on Mr. Campbell) to help clear his name. Things kind of go downhill from there, but everyone gets off in the end (bad-da-bum! Thank you, I’ll be here all week…) Costars include vets Chad Hunt (does he ever stop working?) and Markus Ram with Braxton Bond, Wolf Hudson and Geoffrey Paine. A few months ago, I directed a solo J.O. featuring lean, rangy Robbie Ireland for Studio 2000’s S2K Fan Club membership site (I’ll let you know when it goes up) and he’s definitely a newcomer to keep your eye on. New-ish Release Desk: The cover model for PIN UPS: BLONDES from Bel Ami is the painfully lovely Dolph Lambert, whose freshly scrubbed adorableness caused a bit of a stir around these parts when I first published his photo (click here) back in January. Subtitled “The Best of Bel Ami Photo Sessions,” PIN UPS: BLONDES is a solo flick; it was released a few months ago, but as I was clicking around this morning, Mr. Lambert’s gaze on this DVD insert brought me up short. Who needs coffee? (Although I’d prefer him looking more tousled and less prim.) Costars include Troy Allen, Benjamin Bloom (so ripe and smoochable), Ethan Clarke, Luke Hamill and nine others, most of whom are familiar if you’re a BelAmiOnline member. And—ahem—just to nitpick, “blondes” (with an “e”) refers to women; “blonds” (no “e”) is the male signifier. Young master Lambert is schooled in the ways of on-camera mansex by Mr. Hamill in PERSONAL TRAINERS, PART 10, and trades blowjobs with Jason Knightley in FRENCH KISS.

Recently I ran a delectable ass shot—plump and delicious (click here)—of new Jet Set exclusive Dylan Wood (our GPTimes webmaster keeps saying, “Dylan ‘would’ what…?”) Now here’s a look at the DVD insert for his studio debut HUNG COUNTRY FOR YOUNG MEN, which mimics the poster typeface of the Oscar-winning No Country for Old Men. Per the press release, the DVD set also includes a 15-minute “solo muscle worshipping video featuring Dylan Wood, who talks about himself and doing the movie, then shows off his impressive bodybuilder’s physique for the camera as he takes a long, lingering shower, all leading to a cum-soaked finish.” Although he’s quite hunky, I’m revved up by the prospect of costars Tommy Blade and Tyler Saint going at it hammer and tongs. As well, quite a few studios have a crush on young buck Trystian Sweet, who is turning up a lot this summer, and figures here in a threeway with fellow newcomer Kevin Cavalli and Rod Daily.

Producer Ike Garbo’s Sinergy Films is back from the grave. What, the specialty label doesn’t ring a bell? Don’t worry, your memory isn’t faulty. They made one film—2005’s BONESUCKER—and then vanished into the Tucson, Arizona desert from whence they came. Well, now they’re back and the company has placed SINFUL SESSIONS, VOL. ONE (a solo tape, shot three years ago and never released) with Pacific Sun Distribution. As well, BONESUCKER will be re-released later this summer. Per the press release, Sinergy is in production on a new feature. SINFUL SESSIONS, VOL. ONE features newbies Damian, Jesus, Mike, Byron Strong and Zack. I have a connection to BONESUCKER. I actually visited the set as a reporter, and arrived to find director-videographer Andre Adair furious because their production assistant (new to the business) had left to run an errand and never came back! So I was drafted as an emergency PA, and spent the day picking up used condoms and holding lights as I watched Arpad Miklos pound the crap out of Carlos Morales, and Jason Hawke give the pork to Corbin Michaels.

New Release Desk: Dolphin Entertainment and Marina Pacific Distribution have SWEET FANTASIES on tap from director Alex Clark. The focus, as the title suggests, is on cute young thangs smooching and romping with sensual abandon. (Interesting side note: They are promoting the use of “invisible condoms” during the sexplay.) Five scenes feature single-named pups like Makaveli and Martin, Evgeniy W. and Tony; “Him” (seriously) and David, et. al. It’s a bit odd to have a generic Tony and David in the cast alongside a “Makaveli” (oy!) and an Evgeniy—and someone named “Him”…? Don’t get me started; the naming of foreign models has been a thorn in my side for the past decade. So the new film is an import, natch. We haven’t covered Dolphin Entertainment often on this site; do you folks have any specific favorites or preferences with this company? They’ve nipped at the heels of Bel Ami for years; SOMETHING ABOUT DOLPHINS was a GAYVN-nominated hit for the studio back in 2004.

Channel 1 Releasing is touting the 25th Anniversary Edition of FLESH & FANTASY (click here), originally released by Catalina Video in 1984. It streets July 1. The new DVD master was struck from an original 16mm print; yes, Bobby, gay porn “films” were actually shot on film stock once upon a time. The great Duff Paxton is featured with Sam Benson, John Charles, Mike Cole, Jim Bataglia, Randy Gutzman, Jim Klamm, Bob Moore, Gary Silverman and Rob Stevens. Director Lancer Brooks (a/k/a Tom DiSimone or De Simone) is still alive and kicking, and was interviewed for a BTS featurette (much like—ahem—I interviewed Jerry Douglas for a BTS featurette on Studio 2000’s remastered DREAM TEAM; click here). Mr. DiSimone is an industry pioneer; his first film THE COLLECTION first opened in 1969 at the Park Theater in Los Angeles and was instantly shut down by authorities. In the early ’70s, the Federal Commission on Pornography and Obscenity, called by President Nixon, cited THE COLLECTION as so deviant it ought to be banned—and it was entirely simulated! In the 1980s, Mr. DiSimone segued into mainstream television and film with credits like 1981’s Hell Night with Linda Blair, ’82’s The Concrete Jungle, and my personal favorite, 1986’s Reform School Girls. He was a GAYVN Hall of Fame recipient in 2005.

Performer-director-mogul Ty Lattimore has been quietly churning out fuck flicks via his Ty Lattimore Entertainment since 2004—some with vivid titles like JOCKSTRAP BRUTHAS and DIAL A FREAK and PUNCH YOU IN YO ASS—and recently signed a new distribution deal with New Barbary Coast. They’re putting some older titles back into circulation (didn’t I tell you we’d be seeing a lot of this?), such as 2006’s wonderfully titled WAIT TILL I BUST THIS NUTT. Mr. Lattimore toplines with two guys named Moet (awesome) and Tankk, plus Bryce Chambers, Jacoby, Leland James, Krupt, Alex Payne, Charles Rod and Smoke. You might also recall a bit of mainstream gossip notoriety in 2004 when media gossips confused a clip of Mr. Lattimore with the rapper Lloyd Banks, whom he resembles.

Press Release Roundup: Bijou Video has announced the DVD release of 1987’s GOTTA HAVE IT starring erotica legend Jon King and directed by Stephen Lucas. (Lotsa classics and “lost” films and such are turning up on DVD these days, aren’t they? Expect more of it.) Originally released by Wall to Wall Video, the film is a dialogue-free fuckfest and was screened at Chicago’s Bijou Theater back in April. That screening, per the press release, provoked a mini-stampede of fans clamoring for a copy. But the film’s VHS stockpile was depleted. The film wasn’t originally on their release schedule, but Bijou’s Founder and President Steven Toushin says the film underwent some restoration and a new DVD master was struck. Costars include Pierce Daniels, Matt Romero, Gary Sanchez, Chris Thompson and Tyrone Washington. The original Adult Video News review notes that Mr. King is “as voracious as ever, matched with a series of partners who seem to appreciate his talents as much as the viewers do,” and of the duo between Messrs. Washington and Davis, “Washington is an enormous black bodybuilder; Davis is a slender, submissive blond. For sheer contrast, sexually and visually, you couldn’t ask for a more volatile pairing.”

I’ve got another dispatch today from the Dept. of Self-Promotion: My next film from Studio 2000 is THE CREW, costarring S2K exclusive Jake Havoc and Jet Set exclusive Jesse Santana, who was loaned out to us. I debuted the softcore DVD insert last month (click here). But you can currently find the megahung pup in JAKE’S HARD RIDE (click here), shot last summer in Prague under the direction of Danny Ray. I accompanied him to Europe as a chaperone of sorts. Mr. Havoc tangles with Czech beefcake in two scenes: first in a fourgy with Fernando Kruz (awesomely ripped torso and magnetic blue eyes), muscled Robert Driveman and ex-Bel Ami star Casper Watts. Later he anchors a threesome with chiseled stunner Drago Lembeck and cute new pup Lacius Gross. But watch for the duo between Max Fonda and Jerome Reynolds, both straight-ish with girlfriends, but whose chemistry was so intense they started dating afterwards. (Last month, Danny Ray told me that Mr. Reynolds has now fully embraced his bisexuality and found an agreeable girlfriend who gets off on the idea.) By the way, Mr. Havoc, 23, graduated from college last week. Congrats!

After Studio 2000 co-founders Scott Masters and John Travis retired in April 2006, the company has been slowly re-releasing titles that had gone out of print—like the spiffed-up DVD of DREAM TEAM, for which I interviewed director-writer Jerry Douglas on a behind-the-scenes featurette (click here)—or had been unavailable, like HART THROB starring a perilously young Adam Hart (click here). It was directed by Mr. Travis (as “John Trennel“) and released in 1993 (!), one of the first films both for Studio 2000 and Mr. Hart, who is more muscled than ever these days and available for select gigs, per his agent David Forest. What a cast for HART THROB: Phil Bradley! Michael Brawn! Claude Jordan! Bo Summer! Ty Russell! That’s some mighty fine, Grade-A, early-’90s beefcake. The original Adult Video News review was a four-star gusher, calling the flick a “pulsating throbber” and delighting over “the delicious bod of Adam Hart… the dance scenes in the strip clubs, particularly Hart doing nude push-ups, are going to be played over and over again.”

All Boys Distribution (not to be confused with All Boys Video, a different company) has 2002’s CRUISEMASTER ROAD TRIP 1 reissued on DVD from Cruising for Sex Videos and CFSporn.com. (Lotsa re-releases these days, eh?) Helmer and vet kinkmaster Keith Griffith corralled a cast that includes Ian Christopher, Josh Kole Julian Prescott, Joe Raven, Vincent Rimbaud (kudos to whomever gave him that surname), Tony Serrano, Lance Storm, Timothy Vaughn and Brent Zima (boy, did he date himself with that surname…) You’ll recall that Keith Griffith was in the news quite a bit last summer as a cruising sexpert in the wake of the Senator Larry Craig scandal. About the movie, ManNet.com raved, “How many times have you cruised some guy in a park, on the street, in a sex club, and after making contact had just about the best sex in your life? Even if the guy was, by all accounts, pretty ordinary. Well, here’s a movie, deemed a [pro/am] production, which will send you over the moon in its simple exploitation of that part of our lives.” Adult Video News was equally effusive: “…the final scene is the best, with chemistry sparking everywhere. Boyfriends Josh Kole and Timothy Vaughn bring hunky ethnic stud Tony Serrano back to their place for a wild threesome that results in Serrano plowing both boyfriends. Great connections between all three: this is how a threesome should be. Just watch as the boyfriends take care of their companion, with no jealous looks shot or anything. A great scene.”

Channel 1 Releasing has 1998’s THAT DARN TRANNIE back in circulation via their All Worlds Gold label (click here) and directrix Chi Chi LaRue. It’s been out of print for awhile now. As I’ve written many times, the “chicks with dicks” market is thriving on the straight side of the porn ‘hood; typically they bomb when marketed to the gay crowd. But every now and then, a title slips through that strikes a nerve with the Gays. THAT DARN TRANNIE was one of ‘em. (We also have a vocal contingent of fans of the genre who hang out here, and don’t get enough pleasure. So here ya go, boys.) The four-star Adult Video News review is glowing: “(g)orgeous trannies, hunky dudes, attractive sets, and excellent production values… A bit of light dominance/submission and spanking adds extra spice to this tasty, hot dish. The sex is enthusiastic and friendly, with just a touch of camp.” The covergirls are Kelly Michaels and Nicollette Lee; costars include Rod Barry (naturally!), Cristy McNicolle, Paul “The Human Geyser” Morgan (where have ye gone?), Chad Scheyett, Tina Tyler and Grant Wood, plus hunky Chris Dano, last onscreen two years ago in THE DRIFTER 2 and MASQUE for director Jett Blakk, and whose storied career stretches all the way back to 1990’s FOXHOLE for Catalina Video.

HOOKED UP is a new import from Eastern Europe via performer-director Roland Dane and COLT Studio’s Olympus label. That’s blue-eyed charmer Jake Watson on the DVD insert; costars include the glamorous Claudio Antonelli and sultry sex bomb Jose Ganetti—who might hold the record for the most alternate noms de porn with about 13 or 14, at last count—alongside Dom Camillo, Steve Hunt, James Jordan, Tobias Steel, Chris Stone and a handful of mononamed gents. Who knows, with everyone dashing down to South America to shoot these days perhaps we’ll end up rediscovering Eastern Europe? HOOKED UP streets in late June.

Pacific Sun Entertainment has announced the re-release of 2005’s FAN BASE from Black Mirror Productions and director Joe Gallant, a film with something of a mysterious provenance (”Raiders of the ‘Lost’ Porn Film!” blares a headline on the PacSun press release). “A handful of copies were burned and given to the cast of sexually talented unknowns,” the distributor sez. “One copy found its way to GAYVN magazine…and then it vanished!” Apparently Mr. Gallant pried loose a floorboard in then attic and found the movie again. (We’ve all had those kinds of weekends, Mr. Gallant, no worries.) FAN BASE is “set against the backdrop of New York’s seedy music and club scene” and shot with “the jaded, artsy, edgy eye of an urban auteur.” GAYVN’s four-star review in the November 2005 issue says it was “like being dropped suddenly into someone else’s raunchy, East Village club life… Great photography gets you up close and personal, indoors and out, and definitely heightens the pleasure watching fetid, episodic sex in New York City.” The flick streets June 13 and stars Mr. Joe (that’s him on the cover and who, GAYVN sez, “works hard for the money and bottoms for all who will have his hairy ass.” Attaboy!).
