Planet Porn: Francois Sagat is an Alluring “Muse”

Planet Porn: A sample of François Sagat, as photo’ed by Exterface—24-year-old French artists Julien and Stephane—from a new exhibition titled “Muse” (click here). Given that Mr. Sagat’s unique beauty and bubblicious bod have captivated so many photographers around the world, the title of “muse” is an apt one. In their own words, Exterface “attempt to manipulate the male—exposing him, stripping him until he is lost between coloured light and darkness… [our] iconography is sexually charged, sometimes homoerotic, but always expresses an interior duality. An unfortunate bout of food poisoning (damn that undercooked turkey burger) prevented me from attending last Thursday’s book party launch for Taschen’s The Big Penis Book (we’ve mentioned it here and here). Darn the luck, because yesterday, Page Six tittered (click here) over the fact that director Brett Ratner turned up to purchase five copies, “which he got signed by the cover model, porn star Chad Hunt.” The party was packed with “underwear-clad male waiters and porn stars [and] Brett was eating it up!” Bully for him. In Print: Gmunder’s “Greats” Include Bel Ami, Bjorn

In Print: Mega-publisher Bruno Gmünder Verlag has reissued six of their classic titles—including two gay adult photobooks—under the umbrella Greats. The twist is all of them are pocket-sized. “Now you can enjoy your favorite titles everywhere and always have them with you!” reads the press release. The titles focus on “sensuality and a tingly presentation… the diversity of styles and photographers turn this collection into a must for all lovers of male erotica.” The two titles of interest to porn fans are 2002’s Kristen Bjorn: Men of the World and 2003’s Bel Ami: New Generation. The TLAvideo links are for the individual, regular-sized books; the mini-Greats series is available now in Europe, and goes on sale Stateside in September.

SpecPub’s “[2] Mag” Ceases Publication

Another one bites the dust: I confirmed today that Specialty Publications‘ seven-year-old bimonthly [2] Magazine has gone dark, following publication of the March/April 2008 issue (pictured, left) featuring Steve Cruz and Dominic Sol. The first issue was March/April 2001 and featured Eric Hanson with then-boyfriend Diego Stefano; incidentally, Mr. Hanson has resurfaced this week with news that he has joined the staff of FabScout Entertainment (click here and scroll down). My insider sez the “[2] brand will still continue in the form of bi-yearly special issues and features in our other monthly publications.”

Per his agent and another source, Mr. Atlas and Matthew Rush may not return to the set of Falcon Studios’ gay marriage-themed BEST MEN later this month to continue making their touted sexy times. David Forest Bids Adieu to XXX Biz

As we first reported earlier today (scroll down to the previous story), showbiz vet David Forest, one of gay adult’s most colorful and controversial personalities, has announced his retirement from the agenting game and has sold his David Forest Entertainment, as well as all related companies and websites, including his popular Meet the Stars program, to rival agency FabScout Entertainment. In keeping with his penchant for Hollywood-styled glamour, an emotional Mr. Forest made the announcement during a press conference deep inside a plush ballroom at the Universal Hilton in Universal City, California. At his side was Fabscout’s Howard Andrew, while Rentboy.com’s Angel Benton served as moderator. In their press release, Mr. Forest says, “I’ve had a wild ride in the XXX business and now it’s time to get off the speedway and enjoy life a lot more. David Forest Sells to Fabscout, Retires

Agent David Forest was expected to announce at a press conference this afternoon that he is selling his company, David Forest Entertainment, and all related businesses and websites, including his popular Meet the Stars program, to rival agency Fabscout Entertainment. All current ForestMen clients—a roster that includes Jason Adonis, Zeb Atlas, Tony Capucci, Johnny Castle and Mark Dalton—will now be repped by Fabscout in all areas. A three-decade veteran of the business of show, Mr. Forest will take an extended break from the daily grind and likely return at year’s end in a limited capacity with a new, differently named version of Meet the Stars. The Florida-based Fabscout will use the David Forest Entertainment offices and connections to establish a West Coast foothold. Details and official statements are forthcoming.

Boy Butter Lubes Up Your TeeVee

Press Release Roundup: I overlooked this announcement when it first circulated last week, but it’s still worth mentioning. Boy Butter has become the first personal lubricant targeted to gay men to be advertised in a television advert. Boy Butter parent company BBL, LLC purchased 15 seconds of ad space on the Bravo basic cable network, a subsidiary of NBC Universal, to air this past Monday, June 30. It was set to air in conjunction with another 15-second spot advertising Lucky Lubricants, which is marketed to women. Eyal Feldman, BBL, LLC President and Founder, told Adult Video News that Bravo is “the perfect channel for these commercials and the best platform for a little bit of gay TV history. With shows like Kathy Griffin’s My Life on the D-List and Project Runway, gay and women-friendly programming like these are absolutely perfect for spreading the word to my target demographic groups.” The commercial spots have been posted to YouTube (click here).
