Best Transsexual Release went to AMERICA’S NEXT TOP TRANNY 2 (Goodfellas/Devil’s Film), whilst Best Transsexual Series was awarded to TRANSSEXUAL BABYSITTERS line (love that title) from Devil’s Film. AVN Awards: Trans Movies, Wonky Titles

Nominees for the 2009 AVN Awards have been announced in advance of the January 10 show in Las Vegas. I like to scan the rolls for anything interesting or unusual, and to report on the transsexual nominees. Yes, the “chicks with dicks” category is hotter than ever on the straight side of the skin biz. More on that in a moment. Among the 2917 nominees in 139 categories, I did notice that Herve Bodilis, who also helms gay porn, picked up a couple of directing nods for his straight work for Marc Dorcel via Wicked. And Steve Toushin of Bijou Video is being inducted into the Hall of Fame‚ÄîFounders Branch two years after thte GAYVN Awards bestowed a similar honor on this unsung industry pioneer. I’m also kind of intrigued that an awards show with categories like “Best Fem-Dom Strap On Release,” “Best Foot/Leg Fetish” and “Best Squirting Release” (tee-hee) would also have a category for “Best Speciality Release‚ÄîOther Genre.” The mind boggles. Erotic Expo Names eLINE Award Winners

The 12th Annual Venus Erotic Expo in Berlin closed Sunday night with the 2008 eLine Awards. The trophy show is administered by European trade magazine MEDIENeLINE and recognizes achievement in the adult biz in a variety of categories, most of which are focused on straight porn. As far as I can tell, only three trophies were awarded to the gay/bi/trans side. Constant Readers will recall last year’s international incident involving the David Awards, handed out by GAYeLINE Magazine, when Treasure Island Media won Best U.S. Studio. If the Davids were handed out this year, the winners haven’t yet been released to the press. Anyway, helmer Herv√© Bodilis claimed Best European Director for his work for Marc Dorcel, while OFFICE SLUTS (Berlin Star Film) won Best German Gay Film. Bisex/trans studio Robert Hill Releasing was cited for Best Niche Product.

Brit Artist Sculpts Buck Angel in Marble

Recently, TitanMan Alex Baresi was immortalized in oils by artist Ross Watson, and Damien Crosse posed for the covers of a series of French-language erotic-historical novels. Now popular trans performer Buck Angel will have his countenance sculpted in marble by London artist Marc Quinn. “Working with Marc Quinn is one of the most extraordinary experiences of my career,” Mr. Angel told XBIZ. “I feel so honored to have someone of Marc’s caliber look at me as the subject for a piece of art. Because I am ‘the man with a pussy’ and a porn star, this sculpture will push boundaries all over the world.” As XBIZ notes, Mr. Quinn “burst onto the art scene in the late ‚Äò80s in an exhibition called Freeze, for which he created a frozen self-portrait made from a mold of his own head and using nearly 10 pints of his own blood for material. The artist is noted for his sculptures of subjects with amputated limbs or other physical disabilities.” His sculpture of Mr. Angel will debut in 2009 and “the statue will have his trademark cigar hanging from his mouth and will be partially nude, revealing his genitalia.” It’s been quite a year for Buck Angel; author Armistead Maupin name-checked him in his recent novel Michael Tolliver Lives.

Another “JDMA” Castmate Goes XXX

Yet another Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency castmate has tasted a bit of skin stardom (the third to do so). Last week we wrote about cutie-patootie Martin Ritchie, the current cast member on JDMA with gay porn on his resume (CLICK HERE).
